Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Assistant Accounts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting and financial functions across Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Korea. This role requires strong technical expertise in full set accounting, audit coordination, and tax planning, with a focus on optimizing tax efficiency and ensuring compliance with local regulations.


Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Manage and review full set of accounts for multiple entities across Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Korea
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights to management
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies
  • Coordinate with local teams, outsourced service providers, and stakeholders

2. Audit & Compliance

  • Liaise with external auditors for annual statutory audits
  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documents, and resolve audit queries
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including financial filings and regulatory submissions

3. Tax Planning & Compliance

  • Lead tax planning initiatives to optimize tax efficiency across jurisdictions
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities while ensuring compliance with local tax laws
  • Oversee corporate tax filings, GST/VAT submissions, and other tax obligations
  • Work closely with tax agents and advisors in respective countries

4. Process Improvement & Internal Controls

  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure proper documentation of processes
  • Identify areas for process improvement and drive automation initiatives
  • Support implementation of financial systems and enhancements


Requirements

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, with exposure to full set accounts, audit, and tax
  • Experience in tax planning and tax-saving strategies
  • Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-border teams

  • High attention to detail and strong sense of accountability
