As a Document Controller (DC) in the construction field, your role is critical in ensuring the proper management, control, and distribution of documents across a project. Here’s a clear list of what you should do as a Document Controller:
1. Document Management
- Maintain and update all project documents (drawings, contracts, reports, correspondence).
- Ensure proper document numbering, filing, and version control.
- Track and manage document revisions.
2. Filing and Record Keeping
- Organise both hardcopy and electronic filing systems.
- Ensure documents are easily accessible and properly archived.
- Maintain logs for incoming and outgoing documents.
3. Document Control Process
- Distribute documents to relevant team members and stakeholders.
- Ensure all documents are approved before distribution.
- Monitor deadlines for document submission and approvals.
4. Coordination
- Liaise with engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and project team for document submission.
- Ensure all parties receive the latest approved documents.
5. Compliance & Quality
- Ensure documentation follows company standards and project requirements.
- Support audits by providing the necessary documents.
6. Reporting
- Prepare document status reports (e.g., pending approvals, revisions).
- Highlight delays or missing documents to management.
Requirements:
- Diploma/ Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in document control, preferably in construction or engineering projects.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the team members.
- Strong in computer knowledge and skills.
- Familiar with document control systems.
- Can work in long working hours.
- Process with own transport.
- Can start work immediately.
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,200.00 per month
