Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager – Production is responsible for supporting and overseeing daily production operations to ensure the achievement of production targets, quality standards, delivery requirements, and operational efficiency. The incumbent will lead production teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with company policies and automotive quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Manage and monitor daily production activities to ensure output targets and customer delivery requirements are achieved.
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Optimize manpower utilization and machine capacity to maximize productivity.
- Monitor production performance and minimize downtime, scrap, and rework.
Team Leadership and People Management
- Lead and supervise Production Supervisors, Line Leaders, Trainers, and Operators.
- Plan manpower requirements in accordance with production schedules and business demands.
- Conduct coaching, training, and performance reviews for subordinates.
- Foster a positive work environment and maintain discipline in accordance with company policies.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure products are manufactured according to customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Collaborate closely with QA and Engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Drive defect reduction and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Support compliance with IATF 16949 and customer requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead and promote Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and productivity improvement activities.
- Participate in cost reduction and waste elimination initiatives.
- Monitor production KPIs and implement action plans to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support automation and process enhancement projects.
Safety, Health and Environment
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and statutory requirements.
- Promote a safe working environment and good housekeeping practices.
- Support accident investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with EHS requirements and company regulations.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
- Production Output
- Productivity and Efficiency
- OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- Scrap and Rework Rate
- Downtime
- Manpower Utilization
- Present operational performance and improvement plans to Management.
Compliance and Audit
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, customer requirements, and company procedures.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain proper production records and documentation.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related disciplines.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or management position.
- Experience in automotive, wire harness, electronics, or related industries is preferred.
Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of wire harness manufacturing processes is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and TPM methodologies.
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
- Good understanding of manpower planning and production scheduling.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
