Key Responsibilities

Technical & Application Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject‑matter expert (SME) for quantum and ultrafast photonics technologies, including: Superconducting qubits, photonic quantum systems, and associated control architecturesFemtosecond laser systems, ultrafast optics, and laser–matter interaction principles Cryogenic systems, RF/microwave signal chains, cabling, filtering, and system integration
  • Support customers in: Designing and optimizing quantum and photonic hardware setups, including ultrafast laser integration Understanding hardware–software trade‑offs across qubit platforms and photonic architectures Troubleshooting system‑level, optical, and measurement challenges involving cryogenic, RF, and femtosecond laser subsystems
  • Develop and deliver: Application notes, technical documentation, and reference system architectures covering quantum, cryogenic, and ultrafast laser‑based systems Demonstrations, benchmarks, and proof‑of‑concept (PoC) implementations
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering and product teams to: Provide structured customer feedback Influence product roadmap and future development decisions

Sales & Customer‑Facing Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical front‑line in customer engagements, partnering with Sales teams in: Pre‑sales technical discussionsCustomer discovery meetings Technical qualification of opportunities
  • Clearly articulate product value propositions, including: Why a specific femtosecond laser, cryogenic system, control platform, cabling solution, or photonic architecture is suitable for a given use case Technical differentiators versus competing solutions
  • Deliver: Technical presentations, live demonstrations, and workshops for customers and partners On‑site or virtual system walkthroughs and training sessions involving quantum and ultrafast laser systems
  • Support proposal development by providing: Technical input for quotations, system configurations, and solution architectures
  • Build trusted relationships with: University laboratories National research institutes Quantum startups and industrial partners

Required Qualifications

Education & Background

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Physics, Quantum Engineering, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
  • 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience in one or more of the following: Quantum computing research Quantum and photonics technologies Ultrafast / femtosecond laser systems Quantum hardware development Experimental physics or advanced instrumentation roles

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of: Quantum computing fundamentals (quantum gates, circuits, and algorithms such as VQE, QAOA, Grover’s, Shor’s)Quantum noise, decoherence, and error‑mitigation concepts
  • Hands‑on experience with experimental systems, including: Cryogenic or low‑temperature systemsRF/microwave or optical control systems Femtosecond lasers, ultrafast optics, pulse characterization, and beam delivery Photonic quantum devices and PIC platforms
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one quantum or scientific framework: Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, Perceval, Quantify, or similar
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and control stacks such as: Zurich Instruments, Qblox, Keysight, or equivalent platforms Automation tools (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB)
  • Strong ability to translate complex physics and photonics concepts into clear, customer‑relevant value

Nice‑to‑Have

  • Experience working with: Cryogenic dilution refrigerators Quantum photonic integrated circuits (PICs)Ultrafast laser laboratories or laser‑based quantum experiments
