Job Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and/or Java, with some exposure to React
• Implement RESTful APIs and backend logic based on functional and technical requirements
• Develop and optimise database queries, schemas, and data access layers
• Integrate backend services with frontend applications and external systems
• Ensure backend services meet performance, security, and reliability requirements
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented backend code
• Perform unit and integration testing for backend components
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Support SIT and UAT activities, including defect analysis and resolution
• Assist in deployment support and post-go-live stabilisation
• Maintain technical documentation for backend components

Key Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
• Relevant 3–6 years of experience in backend or full stack software development roles
• Strong experience in Java-based backend development (Spring Boot preferred) or equivalent Python backend frameworks
• Hands-on experience with RESTful API design, database optimisation, and system integration
• Experience supporting production systems, including incident resolution and performance tuning
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage
• Experience working in enterprise-scale or high-availability systems is an advantage
• Experience developing backend or full stack applications using Java (Spring Boot/Spring MVC) and/or Python
• Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and backend services
• Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL/MySQL) and query optimisation
• Experience working in distributed or enterprise application environments
• Familiarity with system integration, third-party APIs, and backend service orchestration
• Understanding of software engineering practices including CI/CD, Agile development, and version control (Git)
