Job Description

Responsibilities

ACTIVE PRECISION ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. is lookingfor a competent Machining Technician to support precision machining operationsin our manufacturing facility. The role involves operating CNC machinery,ensuring product quality, and maintaining production efficiency in a fast-pacedengineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machining equipment (e.g., CNC Milling, CNC Turning)
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and GD&T requirements
  • Perform tool setup, offset adjustments, and basic CNC program editing
  • Monitor machining processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and tolerances
  • Conduct in-process and final inspection using measuring instruments (e.g., vernier calipers, micrometres, gauges)
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and perform corrective actions
  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance of machines
  • Maintain proper documentation of production records and inspection reports
  • Adhere to workplace safety and health (WSH) standards at all times
  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to improve production efficiency

Job Requirements

  • Education& Experience: Minimum Nitec / NTV / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in CNC machining (milling and/or turning)
  • Experience in precision engineering or metal fabrication environment preferred.

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

  • CNC machine operation and setup (Milling / Turning)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Basic CNC programming knowledge (G-code editing)
  • Use of precision measuring instruments (e.g., vernier, micrometer)
  • Knowledge of machining materials (e.g., stainless steel, aluminium, alloys)
  • Understanding of machining tolerances and quality control processes

Soft Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Responsible, disciplined, and safety-conscious
