We’re looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer, (Costing & RFQ Support) in Senai, Johor.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, You will:

You will be responsible for supporting RFQ activities by reviewing customer RFQ packages and assessing technical, manufacturing, IE, and NRE requirements. This includes coordinating with cross-functional teams to gather inputs for costing, process flow, cycle time, tooling, equipment, manpower, and other quotation-related requirements. 

You will identify risks, assumptions, missing information, and clarification items to ensure accurate and complete RFQ submission to the TCS Program Team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

RFQ - IE / NRE 

1. Support RFQ Activities 

• Review customer RFQ packages and technical documents. 
• Review product requirements, drawings, BOM, specifications, PCB data, assembly requirements, and other related documents. 
• Identify missing information, incomplete data, or clarification items required from the customer, Sales, or Program team. 

2. Technical Feasibility Review 

• Evaluate product manufacturability based on plant capability, available processes, equipment, and technical requirements. 
• Review potential risks related to process, material, equipment, tooling, test, and quality requirements. 
• Highlight technical concerns, feasibility risks, and required clarifications prior to quotation submission. 

3. Costing and Quotation Support 

• Provide manufacturing-related inputs to support product costing and quotation activities. 
• Review process flow, routing, cycle time assumptions, manpower requirements, fixture requirements, tooling needs, and equipment requirements. 
• Coordinate with Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Planning, Costing, and other relevant teams to gather required quotation inputs. 

4. DFM and Manufacturability Input 

• Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and manufacturability reviews based on product design and assembly requirements. 
• Review PCB panelization, SMT process requirements, manual insertion requirements, ESD requirements, assembly complexity, and special process requirements. 
• Propose improvement opportunities or highlight manufacturability risks when the product design may impact production efficiency, quality, or cost. 

5. Cross-Functional Coordination 

• Work closely with Program, Engineering, Quality, Process, Test, Planning, and Costing teams. 
• Collect technical, costing, and manufacturing inputs required to complete the RFQ response. 
• Ensure all required technical and cost inputs are completed accurately and within the RFQ timeline. 

6. Risk and Assumption Documentation 

• Document quotation assumptions, open items, deviations, customer clarification items, and special requirements. 
• Highlight potential risks, missing information, and cost impact items prior to quotation submission. 
• Support accurate quotation preparation by preventing under quotation, missing cost items, or incomplete technical assumptions.
