Our client is a well-established manufacturing company with strong regional presence, supplying industrial products to a diverse customer base across multiple sectors. The business operates in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on cost control, quality, and supply reliability. They are seeking a Procurement Lead to support sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations in line with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end procurement activities, including metals, non-metals, and import logistics.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers such as mills, service centers, and metal vendors.
- Lead contract negotiations with a focus on achieving cost efficiencies and securing long-term supply agreements.
- Mitigate risks in supply and service contracts while optimizing operational opportunities through effective supplier management.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services under agreed terms and conditions.
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing procurement and cost estimation teams, promoting continuous improvement.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with corporate standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements, while safeguarding organizational interests.
- Monitor and analyze market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain factors for metals such as steel and aluminum.
- Source potential vendors, conduct evaluations, negotiate terms, and manage supplier contracts.
- Set departmental goals and evaluate team performance against established KPIs.
- Report on target achievements and recommend corrective or improvement actions when necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Business Management, Operations Management, Logistics/Transportation, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong skills in planning, leadership, communication, and negotiation.
- Proven commercial awareness with a strong track record in negotiating high-value, strategic contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong networking, collaboration, and teamwork capabilities.
- Experience in project leadership, change management, long-term strategic planning, or sustainable procurement will be an advantage.
