Job Title: AS400 Developer (IBM i / RPG)

Location: Malaysia (KL)

Employment Type: Annually Renewable contract

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AS400 Developer to join our team and support mission-critical applications running on IBM i (AS400) systems. This role involves development, enhancement, and maintenance of core business applications, with a strong focus on stability, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on AS400 (IBM i) platform
• Write and optimize programs using RPG (RPG III / RPG IV / RPGLE / Free Format RPG)
• Work with CL programs, DB2/400 database, and embedded SQL
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely manner
• Support system integrations and data processing workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts and infrastructure teams
• Ensure proper documentation, testing, and version control of developed solutions

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience working with AS400 / IBM i systems
• Strong proficiency in RPG (RPGLE, Free Format RPG preferred)
• Hands-on experience with CL programming
• Good knowledge of DB2/400 and SQL
• Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and system support
• Familiarity with job scheduling, batch processing, and system operations
• Understanding of SDLC and change management processes

Nice to Have

• Experience with modernizing legacy AS400 applications
• Exposure to APIs, web services, or integration with external systems
• Knowledge of tools like Aldon, Turnover, or similar change management tools
• Prior experience in banking, insurance, or manufacturing domains
