Web 3.0 CTO
Our client is a leading organisation committed to transforming the digital wealth management landscape across Southeast Asia. The company is focused on creating accessible, trustworthy financial products and services through innovative, AI-driven, cloud-native solutions. Joining as a founding CTO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technology vision and building the platform from the ground up, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Role Overview:
The CTO will lead the development and execution of the technology strategy, oversee platform architecture, and manage a high-performing engineering team, ensuring the delivery of a secure, scalable, and compliant wealth management platform aligned with regional growth ambitions.
Key Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management or CTO role
- Proven track record of architecting and scaling digital platforms in fintech, wealth-tech, or SaaS environments
- Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and system integrations
- Experience evaluating and implementing OMS/EMS, CRM, AML/KYC, and analytics platforms
- Knowledge of online brokerage, wealth management, or digital banking is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to embed AI and machine learning into products and workflows
- Familiarity with MAS Technology Risk Guidelines, ISO27001, SOC2, and building regulatory-compliant platforms
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing small, distributed teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and own the technology vision, architecture, and roadmap for the platform
- Develop intuitive mobile and web applications delivering seamless wealth management experiences
- Oversee backend infrastructure design, integrations with partners, and ensure system performance and reliability
- Evaluate, customise, and integrate third-party systems including OMS/EMS, CRM, and compliance tools
- Collaborate with AI teams to embed generative AI and machine learning features into customer-facing products
- Implement security-by-design and establish DevSecOps practices in line with international standards
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation
Requirements:
- Right to work in the region, with preference for candidates based on-site
- Minimum of 10 years’ engineering experience, including leadership roles in fintech or SaaS environments
- Strong technical expertise in cloud-native architecture and system integrations
- Domain knowledge in digital banking, wealth management, or online brokerage preferred
- Experience with embedding AI and machine learning in financial products
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., MAS Guidelines, ISO27001, SOC2)
- Ability to lead and mentor small technology teams in a fast-paced startup environment
