About the role

This role shall possess mechanical engineering knowledge to oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with safety and quality standards. You will lead and mentor the team to meet output targets, drive continuous improvement, and support new product integration. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential to thrive in a high mixed, low volume environment while delivering on customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate workflow to ensure operational efficiency and productivity
• Responsible for resource planning to achieve daily output targets
• Lead the manufacturing team to meet quality standards and customers' delivery expectations
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce defects, and optimize cycle time
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in plastic manufacturing
• Communicate effectively across all levels in a co-functional team setting
• Support new product introductions and ensure smooth integration into existing processes
• Provide analysis and presentations to leaders when required

Job requirements

• Nitec, Higher Nitec, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in a manufacturing line, preferably in plastics or semiconductors
• 5.5 days' working week and must be able to support overtime
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate employees
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a high mix, low volume production environment
• Team player with a "can-do" attitude and willingness to learn new skill sets
