Responsibilities
Espresso Extraction: Grind, tamp, and pull espresso shots to precise specifications.
Milk Texturing: Steam and froth milk to the correct temperature and texture for lattes, cappuccinos, and flat whites; perform basic latte art.
Menu Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of drink recipes, ingredients, and flavor profiles to make recommendations to guests.
Greeting: Welcome customers warmly, answer questions about the menu, and take accurate orders.
Engagement: Build rapport with regular customers and create a friendly, inclusive environment.
Problem Solving: Handle customer complaints or special requests with professionalism and a positive attitude.
Machine Maintenance: Clean and maintain the espresso machine, grinders, and other equipment daily (backflushing, descaling).
Station Hygiene: Keep the bar, counters, and seating areas clean and organized throughout the shift.
Dishwashing: Wash, sanitize, and store cups, saucers, and utensils.
Inventory: Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and pastries; assist with restocking and rotating inventory (FIFO).
POS System: Operate the Point of Sale system accurately to process payments and handle cash.
