Job Overview
The Assistant Centre Director supports the Centre Director in overseeing centre operations, staff development, programme quality, and stakeholder engagement.

This role plays a key part in ensuring high standards in safeguarding, programme delivery, staff performance, parent experience, and enrolment growth, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and People Management

  • Support workforce planning to ensure optimal staffing levels aligned with enrolment and operational needs
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work culture within the centre
  • Coach and support team leaders and staff to strengthen capabilities and performance
  • Implement staff development and mentoring initiatives to support professional growth
  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting and feedback

Centre Operations and Governance

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of centre systems, processes, and operations
  • Monitor operational effectiveness and work with team leaders to address challenges
  • Support budget planning and resource utilisation to ensure operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and standard operating procedures

Programme Quality and Service Excellence

  • Support the implementation of centre strategies to enhance programme quality and service standards
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional learning
  • Ensure alignment of centre practices with organisational vision, mission, and values
  • Support initiatives that enhance the overall experience for children and families

Curriculum and Programme Support

  • Work with curriculum and teaching teams to support the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate programmes
  • Monitor programme effectiveness and support improvements to teaching and learning approaches
  • Ensure implementation of appropriate health, safety, and hygiene practices in line with regulatory standards
  • Support the adoption of new teaching methods, tools, and technologies where appropriate

Stakeholder Engagement and Enrolment Support

  • Build positive relationships with families, staff, and community stakeholders
  • Support communication strategies to enhance parent engagement and satisfaction
  • Participate in centre initiatives, events, and activities that support enrolment and community presence
  • Support the development of partnerships that strengthen the centre’s reputation and outreach

Professional Practice and Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and continuous learning within the centre
  • Support team leaders in developing coaching and mentoring capabilities
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve service quality and operational effectiveness

Job Requirements

  • Must have a Diploma in Teaching and Leadership
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in early childhood education or centre operations
  • Experience in leadership, coordination, or supervisory roles will be an advantage
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
