Job Description

  • Applying a deeper understanding and expert technical knowledge and judgement of Engineering principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems
  • Monitoring the interaction of various disciplines and providing specialist knowledge where required
  • Overseeing the development of functional specifications that meet the client requirements
  • Producing reports on innovative outcomes to a high intellectual standard
  • Proposing alternative solutions where established systems are unable to overcome project problems
  • Providing advice where the concept proposal has nonstandard engineering requirements
  • Supervising the review of complex design to ensure the clients requirements have been met and recommend improvements and corrections
  • Supervision of drawing production for assigned tasks is undertaken in accordance with SMEC procedures as appropriate
  • Supporting other streams in the delivery of high standard designs, verification and onsite supervision
  • Undertaking calculations in accordance with the project requirements (i.e. calculation packages to include Design Statement, table of contents, etc)
  • Undertaking design to a high standard and tight timeframes according to the agreed project role
  • Undertaking verification of others work for QA purposes
  • Planning and managing complex large-scale projects. This will include coordinating the preparation of cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, client reports and monitoring project progress, project scheduling/resourcing, and meeting deadlines and budgets
  • Adhering to the document management process
  • Carrying out specific agreed design tasks to meet agreed outcomes and cost structure
  • Liaising with project managers and appropriate stakeholders to ascertain information required to undertake design and documentation tasks
  • Managing time effectively in order to complete tasks on time
  • Managing work financially, technically and contractually to ensure that it meets technical requirements and is performed within the bounds of the organisation's policies and procedures
  • Reviewing own design against requirements and undertaking corrections and improvements identified
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and achievement of the team business plan
  • Consulting with manager on maintaining agreed utilisation rates and ensuring own time is recorded promptly in the timesheet system
  • Contributing to the overall management and profitability of the discipline
  • Developing new client relationships & enhancing existing relationships for developing new business
  • Developing proposals including leading a team to deliver the proposal
  • Driving changes engaging and working closely with colleagues



Job Specification

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering) and registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC) (mandatory) and eligible to act as submitting person/endorse designs as required by project and statutory authority
  • Atleast 12 years of working experience
  • Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) membership (preferred) and/or other internationally recognized chartered/professional engineer status (desirable for international projects
  • Well established profile within the industry and actively involved in industry association
  • Location: Mid Valley
