Job Summary
The Museum Narrator is responsible for providing clear, engaging, and accurate explanations to visitors during museum visits, exhibitions, gallery walks, and guided sessions.This role supports visitor experience by introducing exhibition content, explaining product or cultural background, guiding visitor flow, answering basic enquiries, and ensuring visitors understand and enjoy the museum journey.The position is suitable for candidates who are confident in speaking, friendly, patient, service-minded, and able to communicate stories or information in an interesting and professional way.
Responsibilities
1. Museum Narration & Visitor Explanation
- Provide clear and engaging narration to visitors during museum tours, gallery walks, or exhibition sessions.
- Explain exhibition content, product background, cultural information, and key highlights according to company guidelines.
- Adjust explanation style based on visitor group, age, language, and situation.
- Ensure all information shared with visitors is accurate, appropriate, and aligned with company direction.
2. Visitor Guidance & Customer Experience
- Welcome visitors politely and guide them through the museum or exhibition area.
- Assist visitors with basic enquiries related to museum content, directions, ticketing, products, promotions, and facilities.
- Maintain a positive visitor experience through friendly communication and professional service.
- Manage visitor flow to avoid overcrowding, confusion, or disruption during the tour.
3. Exhibition Safety & Gallery Monitoring
- Ensure visitors follow museum rules, safety instructions, and exhibition guidelines.
- Prevent visitors from touching restricted displays, entering prohibited areas, or damaging exhibition items.
- Monitor the condition of displays, props, signage, and gallery areas during operation.
- Report damaged items, safety concerns, visitor incidents, or maintenance issues to the supervisor immediately.
4. Tour Preparation & Daily Operation Support
- Prepare tour materials, narration points, visitor information, and daily briefing updates before starting duty.
- Support group visits, school tours, tourist groups, VIP visits, and special events when required.
- Assist with visitor queue control, photo spots, activity flow, and exhibition arrangements.
- Coordinate with ticketing, operations, sales, and customer service teams to support smooth visitor movement.
5. Feedback, Reporting & Content Improvement
- Collect visitor feedback, common questions, and repeated issues during museum visits.
- Share useful feedback with the supervisor or management for service improvement.
- Prepare simple daily updates, visitor notes, incident reports, or tour feedback when required.
- Support improvement of narration scripts, visitor explanations, and museum experience based on company direction.
Requirements
- Minimum SPM, PMR, Certificate, Diploma, TVET certification, or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in museum guiding, tourism, customer service, hosting, teaching, event support, front-line service, or public speaking will be an advantage.
- Able to speak clearly, confidently, and politely in front of visitors or groups.
- Able to communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin will be an advantage.
- Friendly, patient, responsible, service-minded, and confident in interacting with people.
- Able to memorize basic scripts, product knowledge, exhibition points, and company information.
- Able to stand, walk, guide visitors, and support museum operations during working hours.
- Able to work on weekends, public holidays, shifts, or extended hours when required by operations.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per hour
