Job Description

Responsibilities

Working hours: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri, 8am-12pm Sat (5.5 day)

Location: Subang Permai, Shah Alam

Department: Production / Process Engineering


We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically competent QC Executive / QC Engineer to ensure consistent quality of our biochar-based dry mix products. The role involves hands-on sampling, testing, and monitoring of raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods, ensuring full compliance with internal specifications and relevant industry standards.


The position plays a critical role in bridging Quality, Operations, and R&D, ensuring that production issues are addressed through effective corrective actions and that new product developments are validated through proper testing and quality assessment


Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Control (Incoming, In-Process & Finished Products)

  • Perform sampling, inspection, and testing of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products.
  • Monitor key quality parameters across:
  • Dry Mix Plant: batching accuracy, mix uniformity, and consistency
  • Sand Dryer Plant: moisture content and drying efficiency
  • Grinding Mill Plant: particle size distribution and fineness
  • Conduct laboratory and physical tests including moisture content, bulk density, flowability/workability, compressive strength, and adhesion strength (where applicable).
  • Ensure all materials and finished products comply with internal specifications and relevant industry standards.
  • Record, analyse, and maintain accurate test data for traceability and performance monitoring.


2. Corrective Actions & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Identify non-conforming materials or products and initiate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Liaise closely with the Operations team to implement corrective actions and resolve process deviations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using structured manner.
  • Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure proper closure.


3. Support for R&D and New Product Development

  • Collaborate with the R&D team in testing and validation of new dry mix formulations (e.g., tile adhesive, screed, plaster).
  • Support laboratory trials and plant validation runs for new or modified products.
  • Provide test data, performance feedback, and assist in defining quality benchmarks for new product launches.


4. Quality Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain QC records, test reports, and batch traceability documentation.
  • Prepare routine quality reports (daily/weekly/monthly) for management review.
  • Assist in developing and updating SOPs, test methods, and quality checklists.


5. Compliance & Laboratory Management

  • Ensure all testing complies with ASTM, BS/EN, or relevant local standards.
  • Support internal and external quality audits.
  • Maintain calibration and proper functioning of laboratory equipment.


Attributes

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in dry mix, cement, or construction materials industry.
  • Familiarity with products such as screed, tile adhesive, mortar, and plaster systems.
  • Hands-on experience in laboratory testing and QC procedures.
  • Understanding of quality standards (ASTM, BS/EN).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving ability.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
