Responsibilities

FPSO Process Engineer

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Experience: 7–10 years in Oil & Gas / FPSO industry


Role Overview

The FPSO Process Engineer will be responsible for the design, optimization, and operational support of process systems onboard Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. This role requires strong technical expertise in hydrocarbon processing, safety systems, and FPSO-specific operations, with a focus on delivering reliable, efficient, and compliant solutions across global projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process Design: Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and heat/mass balance for FPSO topside facilities.
  • System Optimization: Ensure efficient operation of separation, compression, dehydration, and gas treatment systems.
  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct HAZOP/HAZID studies, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with international standards (API, ISO, DNV, ABS).
  • Operational Support: Provide troubleshooting and performance improvement support during commissioning and operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and marine engineering teams to integrate process systems with turret, mooring, and utility systems.
  • Project Delivery: Support FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC phases, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of experience in FPSO process engineering, offshore oil & gas, or asset-intensive industries.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrocarbon separation, gas compression, produced water treatment, and flare systems.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus) and process safety methodologies.
  • Proven track record in commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational support for FPSO units.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to work in multicultural teams.
