Job Summary:
The Project Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing mechanical engineering projects from initiation to completion. The role involves managing project schedules, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety requirements, coordinating with clients, contractors, and suppliers, and providing technical support to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Coordination
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate mechanical engineering projects and site activities.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Prepare project schedules, work plans, and progress reports.
2. Technical & Engineering Support
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site teams and subcontractors.
- Resolve engineering and technical issues encountered during project execution.
3. Site Supervision
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work is carried out according to project requirements and safety standards.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials required for project activities.
- Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with client specifications.
4. Client & Vendor Management
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors on project matters.
- Attend project meetings and provide project updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Support risk assessments, permit applications, and safety documentation.
- Promote a safe working environment at project sites.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare project documentation, method statements, and technical reports.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, drawings, and correspondence.
- Submit progress reports and project updates to management.
