Position Summary

Maintains and performs tooling staging and set-up in the production machine. This includes preventive maintenance of die base.

Duties and responsibilities

- Performs set-up of dies and carrier tapes accurately processing a clear understanding of the proper order of setting up a press, the priority system or new-set-ups and the appropriate use of tools, masks and dies.

- Ensure setup is done which includes GTR in 1 hour.

- Check and feedback to tool shop for tooling's maintenance after production.

- Solves basic dimensional problems, visual and camber problems and troubleshoots ably, safely and quickly reducing or eliminating unnecessary downtime.

- Maintains the press and die base ensuring continuous, on-going review of documentations and updates the COB.

- Sharpens pins and plates quickly and accurately and possesses a good understanding of electro-cam timing and closed loop heating.

- Ensures that 5S is practiced in the set-up area per shift and reports all safety-related issues to his immediate supervisor without delay.

- Good understanding of electro-cam liming and closed loop heating.

- Coaches assigned personnel toward meeting daily goals in the areas of quality, effectiveness, accuracy and teamwork and maximum performance.

- Conducts orientation and training of employees selected for advancement.

- Monitoring tooling and mask organization. Documentation and control.

- Continuous, on-going review of documentation of die and press maintenance paperwork.

- Works closely with the Vision, QA, and Production department personnel and leaders to ensure we supply superior product value.

- Participates in collegial planning for policies, procedures and systems, problem solving and performance monitoring through participation in standing and ad hoc committees, task forces and project teams.

- Performs such other duties and responsibilities analogous, germane or related to and/or implied from the above enumeration of duties and responsibilities.

Skills And Knowledge

- Ability to assign and direct all assigned production personnel in their daily work: Set-ups, maintenance, troubleshooting, etc.

- Possess an in-depth knowledge of our technical process: tooling, dies, presses, masks, etc. for adherence to our manufacturing procedures.

- Excellent trouble-shooting and good communication skills to work effectively with all areas.

- Team-leadership abilities for most effective use of personnel and equipment.

- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; able to understand and follow work instructions or manuals. May use dictionaries or translation software to aid comprehension when necessary.

- Basic Math Skills.

- PC proficient (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).

- Bachelor's degree in any Engineering field or completion of Technical Vocational courses. A technical or engineering background with at least a secondary vocational school diploma or higher is required.

Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
