Job Description

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Accomy is hiring a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join our growing AI travel platform team.

You will work closely with product, engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams to design, build, deploy, and improve production AI systems for corporate travel. This role sits at the intersection of applied AI engineering, travel technology, customer operations, frontend implementation, and cloud-based software development.

As a forward deployed engineer, you will stay close to real customer and operational problems: understanding business travel use cases, rapidly prototyping AI workflows, hardening what works, and shipping production-ready systems into Accomy’s platform and customer environments.

Your work will include AI travel agent workflows, RAG pipelines, travel data integrations, booking and approval automation, frontend UI implementation, evaluation suites, guardrails, observability, and supporting cloud infrastructure.

This role is hands-on, product-driven, and highly practical. It is not a pure research role, and it is not only backend development. You will be expected to build systems and interfaces that work in real-world travel operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer at Accomy, you will translate ambiguous travel and business operations problems into reliable AI-powered systems.

You will build and improve the infrastructure and product experience that supports AI travel applications, including retrieval pipelines, tool-calling workflows, agentic orchestration, customer data integrations, frontend interfaces, and production monitoring.

You will work directly with internal stakeholders and, when needed, external customers to understand workflows such as flight and hotel search, booking changes, cancellation handling, approval routing, travel policy checks, itinerary support, and operational case management.

You will also help identify repeatable patterns from real-world deployments and turn them into reusable components, internal accelerators, frontend patterns, and product improvements.

What You’ll DoApplied AI Engineering

· Build production-grade AI applications on top of modern LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or open-source models.

· Develop AI travel agent workflows that can support corporate travel use cases such as flight search, hotel search, booking assistance, itinerary management, travel policy checks, approval workflows, cancellation support, and operational handoff.

· Implement agentic workflows using frameworks such as LangGraph, Claude Agent SDK, Google ADK, CrewAI, or comparable tools, including tool use, planning, multi-step orchestration, and structured outputs.

· Design AI workflows that can interact safely with travel systems, supplier APIs, internal APIs, user profiles, company policies, and booking records.

· Run rapid prototyping cycles with product and operations teams, delivering demo-able workflows quickly and iterating them into production-grade features.

RAG, Frontend, and Travel Knowledge Infrastructure

· Design and build retrieval-augmented generation pipelines for travel and business context, including data ingestion, chunking, embedding generation, vector store management, and retrieval optimization.

· Work with travel-related data such as policies, fare rules, hotel rules, itinerary information, destination content, supplier responses, approval rules, and customer-specific configuration.

· Build user-facing AI travel interfaces, including responsive HTML/CSS layouts, component slicing, UI implementation, CSS animation, micro-interactions, and polished frontend experiences.

· Collaborate with product and design teams to translate mockups, wireframes, and product requirements into clean, maintainable frontend implementation.

· Integrate with databases, search services, and vector stores such as PostgreSQL/pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, OpenSearch, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks.

Production Systems and Integrations

· Integrate AI components into Accomy’s existing systems through REST/GraphQL APIs, event streams, webhooks, background jobs, and cloud-native services.

· Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure to deploy containerized AI services and manage secrets, IAM, observability, and scaling.

· Build connections between AI workflows and enterprise systems such as calendar, email, identity providers, approval systems, finance systems, and travel operations tools.

· Support production reliability by writing tests, instrumentation, tracing, logging, and monitoring for both deterministic and non-deterministic AI systems.

Evaluation, Safety, and Guardrails

· Build evaluation suites to measure AI system quality, accuracy, latency, cost, safety, and task completion rates.

· Design guardrails for sensitive workflows, including booking actions, cancellation requests, payment-related flows, customer data, and company policy enforcement.

· Create fallback and escalation mechanisms for cases where the AI should hand off to human travel consultants or operations teams.

· Monitor AI workflows in production and continuously improve prompts, tools, retrieval quality, UI behavior, and system behavior.

Product and Field Feedback

· Identify recurring product gaps, integration friction, operational pain points, frontend usability issues, and customer workflow patterns.

· Turn field learnings into reusable modules, internal tooling, reference implementations, UI patterns, and formal product requirements.

· Document architectures, implementation decisions, frontend conventions, and lessons learned so the broader Accomy team can move faster.

· Collaborate with product managers, engineers, travel operations, sales, and customer success to ensure AI features solve real customer problems and drive adoption.

Required Qualifications

· 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1 year building or shipping AI/ML, LLM, or automation features into production.

· Strong Python skills, with comfort in at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Java, Rust, or C# for integration work.

· Hands-on experience building applications with modern LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock, or comparable platforms.

· Working knowledge of RAG patterns, embedding models, prompt design, structured outputs, and at least one vector store such as pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, or OpenSearch.

· Experience building production APIs, background jobs, event-driven workflows, or cloud-native services.

· Frontend implementation experience, including HTML, CSS, responsive layout, CSS animation, UI slicing, and turning product designs into production-ready interfaces.

· Solid understanding of at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including container deployment, secrets management, IAM, and observability.

· Experience writing tests, instrumenting code, debugging production issues, and reasoning about non-deterministic AI system behavior.

· Ability to translate ambiguous business or operational problems into clear technical designs and working software.

· Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical work to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.

· Customer-facing or operations-facing instincts: you ask good questions, clarify assumptions, manage ambiguity, and stay engaged when problems become complex.

Nice to Have

· Experience in travel technology, corporate travel, TMC, OTA, airline, hotel, GDS, NDC, or booking platform environments.

· Experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, Claude Agent SDK, Google ADK, CrewAI, AWS Strands, or similar tools.

· Familiarity with MCP, tool-calling, OAuth-based integrations, and enterprise identity systems.

· Experience with travel supplier APIs, booking engines, approval workflows, payment workflows, policy engines, or customer support automation.

· Experience with modern frontend frameworks and design systems, such as Svelte, React, Vue, Tailwind CSS, component libraries, or animation libraries.

· Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK.

· Experience with CI/CD pipelines and production deployment workflows.

· Experience with data engineering tools such as dbt, Airflow, Dagster, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.

· Exposure to regulated or compliance-heavy environments, especially around personal data, payments, business travel, or enterprise security.

· Technical writing, internal documentation, open-source AI tooling, or applied AI thought leadership.

Why Join Accomy
