Financial Controller

MAIN OBJECTIVES

• Oversees the School’s and its related companies’ accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial health by managing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal and external controls, and cash flow, while acting as a key partner to leadership for data-driven decisions and growth.
• Assisting in convening Board of Governors meetings at all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and ensure adherence to accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and regulations.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
• Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.
• Cash Flow Management: Oversee daily cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury activities.
• Strategic Partnership: Provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
• Audit Liaison: Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and guide the accounting and finance teams.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; ACCA, CPA, MBA, or relevant certification preferred.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in GAAP/IFRS, financial analysis, accounting software, and UBS systems.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication (written & verbal), problem-solving, strategic thinking, and attention to detail. A self-starter, pro-active, independent and possess a high degree of confidentiality.
• Role in the Organization: A senior-level position that bridges operational accounting (A/P, A/R, GL) with strategic finance. Focuses on both detailed transaction oversight and big-picture financial strategy for sustainable growth.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
