Overview
The General Manager, Aftersales Services – Mazda is responsible for the overall management, performance, and strategic direction of the Mazda Aftersales division. This role oversees dealership aftersales operations, service excellence, profitability, customer satisfaction, and staff management while ensuring alignment with Mazda retail standards and business objectives.
The incumbent is responsible for safeguarding both short-term and long-term business performance, driving operational efficiency, and leading the Aftersales team to achieve sustainable growth and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
A. Leadership & Decision Making
- Lead and oversee all Mazda Aftersales dealership operations and staff.
- Make strategic and operational decisions to ensure smooth workflow, service quality, and business continuity.
- Handle day-to-day operational and ad-hoc business decisions effectively.
- Serve as a role model and mentor to managers and employees within the Aftersales division.
- Foster a high-performance, customer-centric, and collaborative work culture.
B. Aftersales Operations Management
- Manage the overall profitability, sales turnover, and operational results of the Mazda Aftersales business.
- Plan, forecast, and manage departmental budgets and financial performance.
- Identify, assess, and implement mid- to long-term operational and facility investments.
- Oversee workshop, parts, and service operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with Mazda standards.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to dealer agreements, retail standards, and bonus programme requirements.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous process improvements.
- Integrate internal and external support services, including financial and customer support services.
- Manage dealership facilities and ensure operational readiness.
- Implement pricing structures and operational policies effectively.
C. Business Performance & Target Management
- Define and implement business strategies, operational KPIs, and financial targets.
- Monitor dealership performance through relevant reporting and supervision tools.
- Ensure achievement of revenue, profitability, productivity, and customer satisfaction targets.
- Collaborate with matrix functions including Sales, Aftersales, Parts, and Commercial teams to achieve overall business objectives.
D. Market Development & Business Growth
- Continuously monitor market trends, customer expectations, and competitor activities.
- Identify new business opportunities to enhance Mazda Aftersales growth and customer retention.
- Develop and implement innovative sales, marketing, and customer engagement strategies aligned with the local market.
- Drive cost-effective initiatives to improve customer experience and operational profitability.
E. Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, authorities, and Mazda principal representatives.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including dealership owners, management, and head office functions.
- Handle negotiations and discussions with both internal and external business partners professionally.
F. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with relevant departments including Sales, Commercial, Parts, and Service Operations to ensure seamless business operations.
- Support organisational initiatives, process improvements, and strategic projects across the dealership network.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Automotive Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant automotive aftersales leadership experience, preferably within an authorised dealership environment.
- Strong business acumen with proven experience managing profitability and operational performance.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of dealership operations, customer service standards, and automotive retail practices.
- Ability to lead teams, drive change, and deliver business growth in a fast-paced environment.
