Job Purpose:
- To provide accurate and timely cost estimations for industrial construction projects. This role exists to ensure the organization submits competitive and profitable bids by meticulously analyzing technical specifications, material requirements, and subcontractor pricing.
Key Accountabilities:
- Cost Compilation: Assist in preparing Bill of Quantities (BQ) and cost breakdown structures for submission to main contractors or plant owners.
- Regulatory Compliance: Account for applicable taxes (such as SST) and fabrication service charges within the final cost presentation.
- Data Management: Maintain and update a database of historical pricing and supplier performance to improve future estimate accuracy.
Decision Making Authority:
- Selection of preferred suppliers for preliminary budgetary quoting.
- Determining the most efficient estimation method for project variations.
- Identifying discrepancies in tender documents that require a clarification.
Job Requirements:
- Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas).
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to meet tight tender deadlines.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in construction or engineering estimation. Fresh graduates with strong technical internship backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
