Job Title: PLC Automation & Control Systems Engineer

Industry: Industrial Automation & Control Systems
Location: Malaysia (Project-Based / Nationwide Travel Required)

Reports To: Engineering Manager / Project Manager

Position Overview

The ideal candidate must possess strong Siemens PLC programming expertise, solid field experience in industrial control systems, and the ability to work independently in demanding site environments.

Key Responsibilities

PLC Programming & System Development

• Develop, program, and modify Siemens S7 PLC systems using:
• Simatic Classic (Step 7)
• TIA Portal
• Knowledge of Simatic S5 will be an added advantage.
• Design and implement control logic for industrial automation systems.
• Perform PLC testing, debugging, and optimization.

HMI / SCADA Development

• Configure and integrate HMI and SCADA systems including:
• Siemens WinCC
• Wonderware
• Citect
• Develop user-friendly operator interfaces.
• Ensure reliable communication between PLCs, HMIs, and field devices.

Drives & Motion Control

• Configure, install, test, and commission:
• Drives / VFD / VSD systems
• Servo systems (added advantage)
• Perform parameter tuning and troubleshooting for motion control applications.

Industrial Control System & Instrumentation

• Troubleshoot complex industrial control systems connected to instrumentation.
• Diagnose issues related to sensors, transmitters, actuators, and control panels.
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and safety compliance.

Site Installation & Commissioning

• Perform system installation, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), and commissioning.
• Lead and manage on-site contractors to ensure work is executed safely and in compliance with approved method statements and quality standards.
• Ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare technical documentation including:
• Control drawings
• PLC program backups
• Commissioning reports
• As-built documentation
• Utilize AutoCAD for electrical/control drawings.
• Prepare reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (B.Eng.) or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of field working experience in Industrial Control Systems and Instrumentation.
• Proven hands-on experience in Siemens PLC programming (S7, TIA Portal).
• Experience in commissioning industrial automation projects.
• Siemens S7 PLC programming (Simatic Classic & TIA Portal).
• HMI/SCADA systems (WinCC, Wonderware, Citect).
• Drives / VFD / VSD configuration.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial control and instrumentation systems.
• AutoCAD proficiency.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Willing to travel extensively for project deployment.
• Must possess a valid driving licence.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and on-site decision-making ability.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
