Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, components, and consumables required to support production schedules and customer demand. The role involves inventory planning, supplier coordination, material requirement analysis, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production while minimizing excess stock and inventory costs.

Key Responsibilities

Material Planning & Inventory Management

Analyze production schedules, sales forecasts, and customer orders to determine material requirements.

Plan and monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.

Generate and maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) reports and purchase requisitions.

Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate inventory discrepancies.

Track material consumption trends and recommend inventory optimization strategies.

Ensure timely replenishment of raw materials, packaging materials, and production consumables.

Supplier & Procurement Coordination

Coordinate closely with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials.

Follow up on purchase orders and expedite critical materials when necessary.

Monitor supplier delivery performance and communicate potential supply risks.

Work with the Procurement team to resolve supply shortages, quality issues, and delivery delays.

Maintain accurate supplier lead times within the ERP system.

Production Support

Collaborate with Production Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Manufacturing teams to support production requirements.

Identify potential material shortages and proactively develop recovery plans.

Ensure materials are available according to the production schedule.

Support new product introductions by planning material availability and inventory readiness.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Maintain accurate material planning data in ERP/MRP systems.

Prepare inventory, shortage, and material status reports for management review.

Analyze inventory performance indicators such as inventory turnover, stock accuracy, and material availability.

Recommend process improvements to enhance planning efficiency and inventory control.

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

Participate in inventory audits and cycle count activities.

Support implementation of supply chain improvement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and inventory control procedures.

Contribute to cost reduction initiatives through inventory optimization and waste reduction.

Pay: RM2,077.54 - RM5,897.44 per month
