Full Time Assistant Engineer (Civil) (Grade JA5) Jobs, salary up to MYR 3,200 in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Gombak - Ricebowl

• Diploma in Civil Engineering from any recognised institution by the Government from a local higher education institution or a recognised equivalent qualification.

• Possess at least five (5) years' working experience in the related field.

• Knowledge and skills in architectural will be an advantage.

• Resourceful, knowledge on civil engineering, operations and management skill.

• Good skill in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio and AutoCad.

• Good command in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.

• Able to work under pressure and within tight deadline.

• Possess high level of integrity. 

• Able to work in a team, committed and dedicated to work.

• Able to work independently in fast pace environment.

• Energetic and has good interpersonal skills.

1. Site Supervision & Quality Assurance

• Conduct daily on-site inspections to monitor contractor progress, workmanship, and adherence to approved structural and infrastructural drawings.

• Witness and verify critical material testing, including concrete slump/cube tests, soil compaction tests, and structural steel checks.

• Identify structural defects, safety deviations, or non-conformance issues on-site and ensure contractors execute proper rectification work immediately.

• Verify contractor setting-out points, alignments, and levels using engineering instruments to ensure layout accuracy.

2. Project Coordination & Administration

• Track daily site progress against the master construction timeline (Gantt Chart/CPM) and escalate potential delays to the Senior Civil Engineer.

• Conduct joint site measurements with contractors and consultants to verify the actual volume of work completed.

• Maintain meticulous project documentation, including the official Daily Site Diary, technical meeting minutes, and progress photograph records.

• Assist in reviewing and verifying contractor interim progress claims, material variation orders (VO), and final accounts.

3. Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

• Assist in periodic structural integrity assessments and routine maintenance inspections of existing corporate buildings, roadways, drainage systems, and physical infrastructure.

• Prepare comprehensive technical evaluation reports on building defects, scope of work for repairs, and cost estimates for scheduled maintenance.

4. Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance

• Enforce strict compliance with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) regulations and corporate safety standards across all site activities.

• Coordinate, review, and issue Permit to Work (PTW) approvals for site activities.
