Job Description

Responsibilities

Role Purpose:

  • Involve, manage and work with other disciplines to develop a safe, practical, functional, operation-able and sustainable mechanical systems’ design that congruence and meeting the project objectives during design phase
  • Provide design guidance to senior engineers or engineers on various mechanical facilities
  • Provide guidance on authority codes related compliance and if require waiver recommendation
  • Review of the mechanical systems’ design that produced by the mechanical team members and ensure it is technically compliance with the client/customer requirements


Job Responsibilities:

  • Arrange internal design reviews with the support of the HOD and Design Managers
  • Implementing the design checklist, tracking progress, coordination of all disciplines including CSA, Mechanical, Electrical, ELV, Piping and Process team
  • From the design, determine the project cost estimation and budget during programming and conceptual design phases for projects
  • Review of all mechanical tender documentation; ensure that equipment and materials are properly specified per Client/Customer requirements in the tender documents
  • Work with commercial department during procurement exercise
  • Put in endeavour efforts to prevent variation order/change order to the project
  • Representing the Mechanical Team in monthly Client Meetings
  • Design review with Client and obtaining proper approvals for internal records
  • Any design changes to be captured and to raise the Change Management Field Instruction (CMFI) for the additional manhours requirements to Design manager
  • Opex & Capex calculation for major utility equipments
  • Greenmark requirements & new Innovations implementation with renewable energy resources, etc.
  • Compiling lessons learned and briefing HOD on the same
  • Formulating any necessary recovery plans if issue arises in relating to
  • Design
  • Cost
  • Schedule
  • Mentor and train of the Senior Engineers and/or Engineers with the intent of talent retaining programme to ensure the continual expansion of the company
  • Manage workload among mechanical team members
  • Setting of goals and performance review for subordinates in Career Compass
  • Report to HOD for the mechanical team status
  • To promote safe working practices and to protect the health and well-being of Employees, Sub-contractors and Customers
  • To create and maintain a professional atmosphere in the workplace at all time. This shall be achieved through example
  • To create a focused Mechanical Team, and provide adequate and appropriate support to all team members
  • To ensure that all mechanical Team members are fully conversant with their scope of works and the extent of the obligations of Exyte
  • To ensure approved client change order excuted as per request
  • To protect the interests of the company
  • The typical technical and commercial scope would include, as a minimum; pricing of Request For Quotations; report writing; design; all stages of tendering through to award; construction; commissioning through to completion; surveys and fact finding; trouble shooting; final account evaluation etc;


Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 3 years of design experience
