Your day at NTT DATA

As our new Server engineer in APAC, you will work in NTT Global Data Center Japan/APAC's IS Department based in Singapore, supporting the daily operation of the server service infrastructure, and participate in project work as required by the business and client requirements. You will report to the Director APAC Information Systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Designing, Implementing, Managing Server equipment including, physical, virtual and/or cloud servers.
• Server virtualization including VM based and Container based.
• Designing, implementing and managing HCI platform in Data Center premise to supply compute resource for DC management servers.
• Working collaboratively together with respective network, security and other SMEs to deploy and manage server service platform.
• Providing Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
• Providing internal technical support and offer an escalation path from support engineers on complex networking and technical issues
• Interfacing with on-site engineers and contractors during the provisioning process of any server platform related services, including data cabling
• Participating in or leading local and global led projects
• Participating in an on-call rota for out of hours server service support
• Any other duties relevant to the position and the running of the company. We are a small team maintaining a large infrastructure

To thrive in this role, you need to have:

• Prior experience working in an IT Department within a Data Center would be desirable but not essential
• Ability to display some knowledge of some or any of:
• Server OS – Windows/Linux
• Hyper Scaler Cloud – MS Azure/AWS/Google Cloud
• Container virtualization –
• Server platform – Physical (Incl. HCI), Virtual (VM/Container)
• General network base services – DNS/DHCP/SMTP/HTTTPS/SNMP/SSH
• Flexible and not afraid of getting hands dirty with some of the more hands on tasks involved with building and running data centers
• Flexibility to travel to other locations as required at short notice
• Ability to work and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders from several business areas/functions in facilitating projects

Academic qualifications and certifications:

• Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in IT/Computing, or related field.
• Relevant IT certifications, such as ITIL and Microsoft 365.
