About the Role

We're looking for an Learning design specialist who excels at instructional design and loves building structured development pathways. You'll work directly with our internationally certified coaches to extract their knowledge, design comprehensive training programs, and create the pedagogical foundation that will define coaching excellence at Singapore's largest gymnastics facility.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on translating expert knowledge into step-by-step learning journeys ensuring every coach, from beginner to advanced, has a clear pathway to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Design and Programme Development
- Extract expertise from experienced coaches through structured interviews, observations and knowledge mapping
- Design training pedagogy and methodology for coach development programmes
- Create progressive learning pathways that take coaches from foundational skills to advanced competencies
- Develop comprehensive training materials including manuals, guides, presentations, videos and assessment tools
- Structure competency frameworks that define what great coaching looks like at each level
- Build onboarding programmes for new coaches that set them up for success
Training Needs and Development Planning
- Assess training needs across the coaching team through performance observations and stakeholder input
- Create individual development plans aligned to coach competency levels and career progression
- Identify skill gaps and design targeted interventions to close them
- Stay current with coaching best practices, adult learning principles and instructional design trends
- Collaborate with management to align training with academy goals and standards
Knowledge Management and Evaluation
- Maintain centralized training documentation including curriculum guides, lesson plans and standard operating procedures
- Create a knowledge repository that captures coaching best practices and institutional knowledge
- Ensure consistency in training delivery through clear, accessible materials
- Version control and updates to keep training content current and relevant
- Track training effectiveness through assessments, feedback and performance metrics
- Measure learning outcomes and impact on coaching quality
- Maintain training records including attendance, certifications and progression tracking
- Gather feedback from coaches and leadership to refine programmes
- Iterate and improve training design based on data and insights
About You
- Diploma or Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organisational psychology or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in Learning & Development, with strong focus on instructional design
- Proven ability to extract knowledge from subject matter experts and structure it into learning programmes
- Understanding of how adults learn and ability to apply cognitive psychology principles to training design
- Experience designing competency frameworks and progressive training pathways
- Strong facilitation skills for conducting needs analysis sessions and stakeholder interviews
- Proficiency in creating training materials (manuals, e-learning, videos, assessments)
- Excellent documentation skills with attention to detail and clarity
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and training methodologies
- Analytical mindset to assess training effectiveness and make data-driven improvements
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
