Role description:
To act as a team lead role supporting centralised procurement activities within major construction projects. The role will involve coordinating procurement processes across multiple stakeholders, with a focus on material sourcing, supplier coordination, and delivery management. The position requires strong practical experience in contractor-side procurement operations, particularly in bulk construction materials.
Role accountabilities:
Lead and coordinate procurement activities to support project delivery requirements
Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, evaluation, and order facilitation
Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement outcomes
Facilitate procurement coordination for high-volume/bulk materials, including logistics and delivery arrangements
Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier performance, maintaining strong supplier relationships
Support tendering and competitive procurement processes where required
Ensure procurement activities comply with internal procedures and project requirements
Provide procurement insights and support reporting, planning, and process improvement initiatives
Guide and support junior team members where applicable (team lead responsibilities)
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related disciplines
Minimum 8–10 years of procurement experience within the Hong Kong construction industry
Strong experience working with main contractors
Proven experience in procurement of construction materials, preferably steel reinforcement or other bulk materials
Experience handling large-scale or high-volume procurement coordination
Solid understanding of contractor-side procurement practices and market dynamics
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Ability to manage complex procurement coordination across multiple stakeholders
Good understanding of procurement processes, tendering, and contract administration
Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
Proficiency in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is an advantage.
