Responsibilities

POSITION

Server (Lunch & Dinner Service)

SALARY RANGE

RM 2,100 – RM 2,500 per month (based on experience & performance)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our team in an intimate French gastronomic restaurant in Bangsar. We're looking for a welcoming, service-minded server to deliver memorable dining experiences to our diverse clientele across lunch and dinner shifts.

You'll manage table service with professionalism and care, greet guests warmly, help them discover our French menu & carefully curated wine selection, and contribute to an excellent dining experience. This is a growth-focused role — we invest in training and care about developing our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Before Service

  • Set up the dining room: clean tables, chairs, arrange linens
  • Place napkins, placemats, and cutlery according to service standards
  • Set glasses (water, wine) and place water carafes
  • Prepare bread baskets with butter
  • Arrange menus and wine lists (check for cleanliness & completeness)
  • Stock restrooms with soap, paper towels, and supplies
  • Prepare welcome area and check seating arrangement
  • Attend pre-service briefing and learn daily specials, allergies, promotions
  • Familiarize yourself with wine list and pairings

During Service

  • Greet guests warmly and seat them appropriately
  • Suggest aperitifs and beverages promptly
  • Present menu and wine list; describe daily specials
  • Listen carefully to guest preferences and dietary restrictions
  • Take orders accurately and clearly
  • Recommend wine pairings based on guest selections
  • Serve water regularly throughout the meal
  • Open and pour wines properly; present bottle to guest before serving
  • Deliver and clear plates professionally, maintaining service rhythm
  • Engage guests naturally about food, cuisine, and wine
  • Manage guest satisfaction and handle any concerns diplomatically
  • Process payments (cash/card) and thank guests warmly

After Service

  • Clear all tables completely (plates, glasses, crumbs)
  • Wipe and clean tables thoroughly
  • Stack and arrange chairs for next service
  • Sweep and clean the floor
  • Collect and sort cutlery and glassware for kitchen
  • Return items to proper storage
  • Turn off lights and ensure room is secure

YOUR PROFILE Must-Have

  • Fluent English (spoken & written)
  • Friendly, professional personality with strong work ethic
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Willing to learn about French cuisine and wine

Nice-to-Have

  • Mandarin (bonus — helps with local clientele)
  • Prior F&B or hospitality experience
  • Interest in wine or gastronomy
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
