Job Description

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Templer Nursing Home is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Physiotherapist to provide rehabilitation services to elderly residents. The Physiotherapist will assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs aimed at improving mobility, functional independence, pain management, and overall quality of life for residents.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for residents upon admission and as required.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on residents' physical conditions and rehabilitation goals.
  • Provide physiotherapy treatments including:
  • Mobility and gait training
  • Balance and fall prevention programs
  • Strengthening and flexibility exercises
  • Pain management techniques
  • Post-operative rehabilitation
  • Neurological rehabilitation
  • Respiratory physiotherapy where applicable
  • Monitor residents' progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and treatment notes.
  • Assess residents for mobility aids, walking devices, wheelchairs, and other rehabilitation equipment.

Resident Care & Support

  • Educate residents and family members on exercise programs and safe mobility practices.
  • Collaborate with nurses, caregivers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Assist in developing wellness and exercise programs to promote healthy ageing.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and care planning meetings.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all physiotherapy practices comply with Malaysian healthcare regulations and professional standards.
  • Follow infection control, workplace safety, and resident safety protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information at all times.

Administrative Duties

  • Prepare assessment reports, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Maintain physiotherapy equipment and ensure proper usage.
  • Manage rehabilitation schedules and resident appointments.
  • Submit monthly activity and performance reports as required.

RequirementsEducation & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Registered with the Malaysian Physiotherapy Association (preferred).
  • Valid Annual Practising Certificate (if applicable).

Experience

  • Minimum 1–3 years of physiotherapy experience.
  • Experience in geriatric care, nursing homes, rehabilitation centres, hospitals, or community care settings is an advantage.
  • Fresh graduates with a strong interest in geriatric rehabilitation may be considered.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical assessment and rehabilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of elderly care and age-related conditions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and service-oriented attitude.
  • Good documentation and report-writing skills.

  • Resident rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Improvement in residents' mobility and functional independence.
  • Reduction in fall incidents among residents.
  • Timely completion of assessments and documentation.
  • Resident and family satisfaction levels.
  • Compliance with treatment schedules and care plans.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Saturday: As scheduled by management
  • Public Holidays: As per company policy
