Role Overview:
This is a senior leadership role responsible for building and overseeing the firm's global exchange connectivity and trading infrastructure. You will define and deliver the architecture that underpins market data ingestion, order execution, and historical data consistency across the trading lifecycle, ensuring performance, scalability, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve the architecture for global exchange connectivity, including market data ingestion and order execution systems
- Design and implement a scalable, reusable framework for onboarding new markets, exchanges, and asset classes
- Drive improvements in latency, reliability, monitoring, and system performance across the trading stack
- Establish standards to ensure consistency between live trading, simulation, and historical data environments
- Collaborate closely with trading, research, risk, and infrastructure teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Work with external exchanges, data providers, and connectivity partners to deliver robust integration solutions
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, setting technical direction and delivery standards
- Oversee system diagnostics, validation, and failure recovery capabilities across mission-critical trading components
Key Requirements: - Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
- Extensive experience designing or leading low-latency trading infrastructure, including market data and order execution systems
- Strong expertise in C++ and performance-critical system development (memory management, concurrency, networking, etc.)
- Deep understanding of low-latency architecture, performance optimisation, and trading system design
- Proven experience building production-grade frameworks across multiple markets or asset classes
- Strong knowledge of diagnostics tools (e.g. latency analysis, packet-level debugging, replay systems)
- 8+ years of relevant experience within systematic trading, market making, exchanges, or similar environments
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineers or technical teams
- Ability to align engineering priorities with trading and business objectives in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have (optional): - Experience across global markets such as equities or futures
- Exposure to large-scale financial market data processing and validation workflows
- Familiarity with Python or data analysis tools for diagnostics and validation
- Experience working with exchange connectivity providers or evaluating vendor solutions
