POSITION OVERVIEW

The Vice President, Development will report to the Chief Development Officer at Starwood Hotels. The job function is focused on sourcing and executing deals in Asia Pacific. The candidate is expected to play a lead role in evaluating opportunities, pitching the brands, and negotiating management and branded residential contracts. There is an expectation that the candidate will develop internal relationships within the Development team and across other functions.

The candidate should be a multi-faceted individual with strong analytical skills, an existing network within the industry, and the ability to adapt to the nuances of working on deals across a broad geographical landscape. The role offers exposure to senior leadership within the company, as it continues to grow rapidly around the world and builds a presence in Asia Pacific.

More specifically, you will:

• Leverage professional network to source new leads for the company.
• Pitch the brand(s) and Starwood Hotels management platform to prospective clients.
• Play an active role in negotiating contracts, with support from legal resources.
• Take ownership of deals and frame internal approval requests as appropriate.
• Engage with senior leadership in the region to amplify messaging to clients.

• Strong social skills and a generally positive, self-starter mindset.

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

• BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in hotel management and related fields
• Experience in hotel feasibility and business development functions
• Ability to speak multiple languages preferred
• Travel 25-50% of the time
