Job Description

Responsibilities

1. Electrical Installation & Commissioning

Assist in the installation of electrical wiring, trunking, conduits, and control panels.

Perform cable laying, routing, termination, and connection based on engineering drawings.

Support engineers during equipment testing, commissioning, and start-up activities.

Install electrical fixtures, distribution boards, MCC panels, and instrumentation devices.

2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.

Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic tools.

Replace defective components such as breakers, contactors, relays, switches, and wiring.

Ensure minimum downtime by resolving electrical issues efficiently.

3. Technical Support

Assist electrical engineers in planning work schedules, material preparation, and site coordination.

Provide technical support during project execution and system upgrades.

Assist with preparing method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation.

Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and electrical consumables.

4. Compliance & Safety

Ensure all works comply with local electrical codes, SS standards, and safety regulations.

Follow LOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out) procedures during maintenance.

Conduct basic site safety checks and report hazards to supervisors.

Ensure proper use of PPE and uphold workplace safety practices.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare maintenance checklists, test reports, service reports, and daily work logs.

Update drawings or wiring diagrams after modifications.

Assist in preparing quality documentation for project handover.

Job Requirements

Diploma / NITEC / Higher NITEC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Minimum 1–3 years experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or equipment servicing.

Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, control systems, and safety standards.

Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and layout drawings.

Hands-on skills in wiring, troubleshooting, and equipment servicing.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Good communication skills and willingness to work on-site when required.

Optional Additional Responsibilities (if needed)

Assist in PLC panel wiring and basic programming tasks.

Support testing of VFDs, motors, MCC systems, and generators.

Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project managers for site progress.

Handle documentation for audits and compliance inspections.
