Role Description


As a Special Education Teacher Intern at Lumora Place, you will support the design and delivery of individualized learning plans for learners with diverse needs in a remote setting. You will assist in adapting instructional materials, creating accessible resources, and implementing strategies that address learning difficulties and disabilities. Daily tasks include virtual teaching or co-teaching sessions, tracking learner progress, providing feedback, and maintaining clear, respectful communication with learners, caregivers, and colleagues. You will collaborate with the team to develop inclusive lesson plans, contribute to case discussions, and participate in internal training sessions to build your skills. This is an internship role and is fully remote, offering flexible learning opportunities and mentorship.

Job Type: Contract

Working Days/Hours: 20th June - 23rd Aug, 5 hours per day.

Qualifications


  • Strong understanding of Special Education principles and experience or coursework related to Disabilities and inclusive education.
  • Teaching skills, including lesson planning, differentiation, and learner-centered instruction, ideally with exposure to Middle School or similar age groups.
  • Effective Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to build rapport in a remote environment.
  • Interest in or experience with remote/online teaching tools, digital learning platforms, and basic educational technology.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree or certification program in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to equity and accessibility in education.
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability in meeting deadlines, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
