Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based at Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Pharmacist will dispense medications accurately, provide medication counseling, and ensure prescriptions are validated for appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and allergies. This role includes overseeing medication storage and inventory, maintaining proper documentation, and supporting safe and efficient pharmacy operations in line with regulatory and hospital policies. The Pharmacist will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and support clinical decision-making. Additional responsibilities include participating in clinical audits, contributing to medication safety initiatives, and educating patients and team members on appropriate medicine use.

Qualifications

  • Recognized Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, with valid registration and license to practice as a Pharmacist in Malaysia.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, dosage calculations, and clinical pharmacy practices in a hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in prescription review, medication dispensing, and patient counseling, with high attention to accuracy and safety.
  • Familiarity with hospital information systems, electronic prescribing, and digital tools used in smart or technology-enabled healthcare environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload in a fast-paced clinical environment, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, regulatory compliance, continuous professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy is an advantage; fresh graduates with strong clinical interest are also encouraged to apply.
