Job Title: MEP Quantity Surveyor (QS)
Location: Johor, Malaysia (with occasional travel to Singapore)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor (QS) to support project delivery across Johor, with occasional travel to Singapore. This role will be responsible for managing cost control, contract administration, and commercial aspects of MEP works across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage tender documentation, including Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and specifications
- Support the tendering process, including evaluation and comparison of subcontractor submissions
- Administer and manage contracts throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare and submit progress claims, valuations, and payment certificates
- Monitor project costs, variations, and cash flow to ensure financial efficiency
- Evaluate and negotiate variation orders (VOs) with clients and subcontractors
- Maintain accurate project cost records and documentation
- Prepare and agree final accounts with all relevant stakeholders
- Liaise with project teams, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth commercial operations
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 6–10 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying or cost management
- Proven experience in:
- Preparing basic tender documents
- Running and administering contracts
- Preparing progress payments and final accounts
- Familiarity with MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) in construction projects
- Experience working on projects in Johor and/or Singapore is an advantage
- Strong understanding of contract forms (e.g., PAM, FIDIC) is preferred
- Good negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Able to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Willingness to travel to Singapore when required
