This role sits at the intersection of system engineering, network architecture, and operational aviation environments, supporting end-to-end lifecycle delivery in alignment with the organisation’s V-cycle engineering model and Agile (SAFe) practices.

Responsibilities:

· Requirements Analysis and Operational Understanding

Ø Analyze and synthesize customer and operational needs across ATM environments (ACC, approach, tower).

Ø Leverage simulations, prototypes, and real operational scenarios to define robust solution requirements.

Ø Ensure alignment with ICAO, SESAR, and customer-specific regulatory frameworks.

· Solution Co-Engineering (Multi Domain Integration)

Ø Collaborate across software, hardware, cybersecurity and IVV (Integration, Verification and Validation) engineering domains.

Ø Co-engineer end-to-end ATM network solutions (e.g., surveillance data distribution, voice communications, SWIM integration).

Ø Balance performance, safety, cost, and delivery considerations in system design

· System Specifications and Interface Design

Ø Define and formalize:

v Network architectures (IP/MPLS, secure communications)

v System and subsystem specifications

v Interfaces between ATM components (radar, VCS, flight data processing systems)

Ø Ensure interoperability across legacy and next-generation in-house solutions

· Functional Architecture Modelling

Ø Develop functional and logical architectures using UML/SysML modelling techniques.

Ø Contribute to system decomposition, data flow design, and service-oriented architectures (SOA/SWIM).

· Technical Leadership and Liaison

Ø Act as the technical focal point between:

v Development teams

v IVV teams

v Program managers and customers

Ø Provide technical clarity on system integration challenges and design decisions.

Ø Support design reviews and customer workshops

Ø Contribute to system acceptance and deployment activities

· Process Improvement & Innovation

Ø Drive continuous improvement aligned with the organization’s engineering excellence initiatives.

Ø Promote best practices in:

v Model-based systems engineering (MBSE)

v Agile (SAFe) delivery

v Knowledge sharing within global teams

Requirements:

· Proven exposure to end-to-end system lifecycle delivery (V-cycle).

· Strong experience with:

Ø ATM systems & concepts (e.g., surveillance, FDP, VCS, SWIM)

Ø Requirements management tools (DOORS preferred)

Ø Version control systems (Git, SVN)

Ø Architecture modelling (UML / SysML)

· Familiarity with:

Ø Test procedure specification and validation processes

Ø Agile (SAFe) and V-cycle methodologies
