Role Summary

The position focuses on chartering activities in the maritime/shipping sector, working with owners, charterers, and operators on voyage charters and COA (Contracts of Affreightment) agreements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships with ship owners and charterers
  • Negotiate and finalise voyage and time charters
  • Ensure efficient communication and timely service delivery
  • Market analysis of supply/demand, bunker prices, and geopolitical factors.
  • Contract execution, including charter parties and recap documents.
  • Client relationship management with oil majors, chemical manufacturers, traders, and shipowners.

Key Requirements

  • Experience of 3-5years in shipbroking, commodity trading (especially liquid bulk).
  • Strong technical knowledge of vessel types, cargo compatibility, and port restrictions.
  • Commercial and analytical skills for voyage calculations and negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A team player with a proactive mindset.
  • Strong market awareness and adaptability.
  • Passion for global maritime trading.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional memberships such as the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) are preferred
