We are looking for a Senior Associate Engineer to support the operations, maintenance, and reliability of critical submarine cable systems and cable landing station facilities. This role plays a key part in ensuring network availability, service continuity, and the successful delivery of colocation and interconnection services.

The ideal candidate is technically inclined, hands-on, and eager to work in a mission-critical telecommunications environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and support submarine cable communication systems and telecommunications equipment.
• Perform testing, implementation, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis of submarine cable transmission systems and associated infrastructure.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance operational procedures for cable station operations, colocation facilities, and interconnection services.
• Support fault localization, repair coordination, and restoration activities for submarine cable systems.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of mechanical & electrical (M&E), building facilities, and outside plant infrastructure within the cable station.
• Coordinate and support submarine cable installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair projects.
• Manage equipment room facilities, including floor space planning, power allocation, and infrastructure utilization.
• Support colocation projects and ensure customer interconnection requests are delivered within agreed timelines.
• Perform cabling, fiber patching, testing, and troubleshooting activities within the cable station.
• Manage site access and security requirements for customers, contractors, and vendors.
• Maintain accurate documentation of cable systems, facilities, test equipment, spare inventory, and customer infrastructure.
• Assist in site surveys, inspections, installation, and commissioning activities for submarine cable and equipment room projects.
• Represent the organization onboard vessels during submarine cable deployment, maintenance, or repair activities when required.
• Participate in a 24/7 standby and on-call support roster to ensure operational continuity.

Requirements

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with relevant experience in telecommunications, network operations, infrastructure, or data center environments are also welcome.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of system testing, implementation, and maintenance activities.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Self-motivated team player who can work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to perform shift work and participate in a 24/7 standby and on-call support rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in telecommunications networks, fiber optic systems, submarine cable systems, or critical infrastructure environments.
• Exposure to cable landing stations, data centers, colocation facilities, or network operations environments.
• Basic project coordination or project management experience is advantageous.
