Job Summary

The Assistant Infrastructure Manager supports the Infrastructure Manager in developing and delivering the organisation’s IT infrastructure strategy and migration plans.

The role oversees network architecture and operations, HCI, VMware virtualisation, SAN and enterprise storage, and cloud platforms such as Alibaba Cloud, AWS, and other leading hyperscalers. It also supports infrastructure roadmap planning, platform modernisation, migration programmes, and technical governance to sustain a secure, efficient, and resilient hybrid and multi-cloud environment.

The position also contributes to technical planning and migration leadership, reducing operational risk and improving team resilience by lessening dependency on individual staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development and management of the infrastructure roadmap, covering network, HCI, virtualisation, storage, and cloud platforms.
• Support network planning and management, including LAN/WAN design, routeing and switching, firewall policies, and availability and performance targets.
• Plan infrastructure capacity, scalability, lifecycle replacement, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Support the standardisation and governance of infrastructure design across the organisation.
• Provide technical guidance to Infrastructure Specialists and support SOP development, documentation, and structured knowledge transfer；and
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as and when required.

Our Requirements:

The appointee should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

• A degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related computing discipline is preferred.
• 5–10 years of IT infrastructure experience, with solid exposure to:
  • Infrastructure planning and design
  • Infrastructure and project management across data centre, HCI, cloud, and storage environments
  • VMware and HCI platforms, as well as SAN and enterprise storage
  • Fibre network operations and management
  • Experience with major cloud hyperscalers, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Alibaba Cloud
• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud projects is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Network architecture and infrastructure design
  • VMware, HCI, and storage platform architecture
  • Infrastructure migration methods and risk management
  • Cloud architecture and governance
  • Professional certifications such as CCNP, VCP, or AWS are preferred

• Able to translate technical designs into management-level plans and decisions.

• Strong planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
• Able to combine technical depth with strategic thinking
• A proactive, structured, and risk-aware approach
