What You'll Be Doing?
Process Engineer (Specialty Chemicals - Ester) is responsible for monitoring, optimizing, and improving esterification plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while maintaining product quality and compliance with company standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor daily ester plant operations to ensure smooth production activities.
- To control and monitor the process, ensure high efficiency and high quality product produce to meet customer expectation.
- Optimize process parameters to improve productivity, yield, and product quality.
- To carry out systematic trials or experiment to improve process, product quality, efficiency and productivity.
- Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- To monitor status for all observation raised for all type inspections, ensure all actions are taken within time specified and updated the status to Document Controller.
- To lead in all HSE activities and ensure all personnel safety, PPE and emergency equipment’s are always well maintained. Initiate plant safety inspection and ensure all issue raised, action taken within time specified.
- Ensure plant operations comply with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Conduct process analysis and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, QA/QC, and HSE teams for operational support.
- Prepare and update SOPs, process documentation, and technical reports.
- Support commissioning, startup, shutdown, and plant modification activities.
- Monitor raw material consumption and utility usage for cost optimization.
- Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
- To lead 5s activities to ensure that plant is always in neat and orderly conditions.
- To control materials mass balance for each batch and is responsible for SAP stock accuracy.
- To coordinate tank farm operations and management.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, or relevant industry standards where applicable.
- Ensure all activities are carried out are following ESM Integrated Management System requirements (ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, ISO 22716, GMP+B2, HACCP, EFfCI, RSPO, HALAL, Kosher & GMP).
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree holder in Chemical Engineering or equivalent disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in engineering within chemical, oleochemical, or other process manufacturing industries.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools – DCS & SAP is a plus
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to process and interpret complex data.
