  • This role is responsible for planning and assuring the quality of testing activities across Finance Core Systems, Finance Cloud platforms, AI‑enabled capabilities, and automation initiatives.
The role ensures systems are delivered fit for purpose, compliant, stable, and production‑ready, meeting business, regulatory, audit, and operational requirements.

  • The role works closely with Finance users, internal delivery teams, data engineers, and technology stakeholders to define testing strategies, oversee execution, and provide clear quality assurance across complex, data‑driven, and regulated environments.

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES

Test Strategy & Planning

  • Define and maintain end‑to‑end test strategies covering system testing, integration testing, UAT, regression testing, and release validation for Finance systems.

  • Incorporate AI and automation testing approaches, including model behaviour validation, rule‑based automation testing, and data‑driven scenario coverage.

  • Develop and manage test plans, schedules, scope, test data requirements, and environment readiness aligned to delivery timelines.

  • Ensure test coverage addresses functional, data, integration, non‑functional, regulatory, and AI‑related risks.

Test Execution & Delivery Management

  • Coordinate and oversee test execution activities across internal delivery, data, and AI teams.

  • Manage defect lifecycle activities including triage, prioritisation, root‑cause analysis, and retest cycles.

  • Validate automation outputs and AI‑assisted results against defined expected behaviour and business rules.

  • Track testing progress against milestones and proactively raise risks or quality concerns.

Finance, Data, AI & Regulatory Assurance

  • Ensure testing validates finance calculations, reconciliation logic, data flows, and reporting outputs.

  • Support IFRS 17 / IFRS 9 compliance testing, including validation of data lineage, traceability, and audit evidence.

  • Ensure AI‑enabled features are tested for:

  • Data accuracy and consistency

  • Explainability and transparency

  • Error handling and fallback behaviour

  • Ensure all test artefacts and evidence are complete, accurate, and audit‑ready.

Test Governance, Automation & Quality Control

  • Establish and enforce testing standards, entry/exit criteria, and quality gates.

  • Define and promote automation testing practices to improve coverage, repeatability, and efficiency.

  • Provide consolidated test status reporting, quality metrics, and risk assessments to stakeholders.

  • Promote continuous improvement in testing approaches across projects and platforms.

UAT & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Partner with Finance users to plan and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.

  • Ensure UAT scenarios cover real business processes, data reconciliation, and AI‑assisted workflows.

  • Coordinate business sign‑off and readiness for production deployment.

Project Coordination & Delivery Management

  • Support project delivery by coordinating plans, timelines, milestones, and dependencies across assigned initiatives.

  • Track progress against agreed project plans and highlight risks, issues, and slippages in a timely manner.

  • Maintain key project artefacts including project schedules, action logs, and status updates.

  • Facilitate alignment across stakeholders to ensure deliverables, responsibilities, and priorities are clearly understood.

  • Support go‑live preparation and post‑implementation follow‑up, ensuring actions are tracked to closure.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in testing, quality assurance, or delivery assurance roles within financial services, insurance, banking, or other regulated environments.

  • Proven experience supporting the testing of Finance systems such as accounting platforms, reconciliation solutions, regulatory reporting, or finance transformation programmes.

  • Strong experience coordinating and executing system testing, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Good understanding of finance processes and data flows, including reconciliation, reporting, and regulatory controls, without needing to design or build systems.

  • Experience validating the outcomes of automation or AI‑enabled functionality, ensuring results are reasonable, explainable, and aligned with business expectations.

  • Familiar with regulatory and audit expectations, including preparation of test evidence and support for audit or control reviews.

  • Comfortable working with business users, delivery teams, and technology specialists to clarify requirements, identify risks, and confirm readiness for production release.

  • Experience supporting go‑live activities and post‑implementation validation for business‑critical systems.

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Good understanding of end‑to‑end testing concepts, including system testing, integration testing, UAT, regression testing, and release readiness.

  • Practical knowledge of finance processes and data flows, such as reconciliation, closing, and financial reporting.

  • Awareness of regulatory and audit expectations for Finance systems, including documentation, traceability, and evidence requirements.

  • Experience validating data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across multiple systems.

  • Understanding of how automation and AI‑enabled features are used in Finance platforms, with the ability to validate outputs against expected business outcomes.

  • Familiarity with common test management and defect tracking tools and reporting practices.

  • Ability to assess test coverage, identify gaps, and ensure issues are clearly documented and followed through.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining testing status, risks, and outcomes to non‑technical stakeholders.
