The Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing contract administration, tendering, procurement, costing, and commercial management for interior design and fit-out projects. The role ensures projects are delivered within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage overall contract department functions for interior design and fit-out projects, including budgeting, sourcing, procurement, cost control, and supplier/subcontractor coordination.
- Prepare project costing, tender submissions, BOQ, and pre-project budget documentation.
- Develop effective tender pricing strategies and ensure accurate and competitive quotations.
- Source, negotiate, and coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, and vendors for interior materials, furnishings, and fit-out works.
- Monitor project procurement, delivery schedules, and quality standards to support smooth project execution.
- Ensure all contracts, agreements, and supporting documents are properly maintained and compliant to protect company interests.
- Coordinate closely with project, design, and site teams to ensure project requirements and timelines are achieved.
- Lead, train, and supervise subordinates in completing assigned tasks effectively.
- Ensure all costing, tender, and contractual submissions are accurate and submitted within the required timeline.
- Must be willing to travel outstation based on project requirements.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by Management or the Board of Directors.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of working experience as a Quantity Surveyor (QS), preferably in Interior Design (ID), Fit-Out, or Renovation contractor industry.
- Strong experience in interior fit-out tender pricing, budgeting, procurement, sourcing, and contract administration.
- Good knowledge of construction contracts, especially interior fit-out works, tender procedures, project costing, and procurement processes.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial evaluation skills.
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight project and tender deadlines.
- Strong leadership and ability to guide junior QS or contract team members.
- Good communication and coordination skills with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and contract-related documentation.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently.
- Possess own transport and willing to travel outstation when required.
