Job Description

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Key role in ensuring effective strategic planning, risk management and internal compliance within the organization.
  • Responsible for coordinating and executing various planning activities, assessing and mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with internal organizational policies and procedures.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with respective departments to develop strategic plans and goals for the business
  • Assist in formulation and implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of strategic plans, providing periodic updates.

Risk Management

  • Identify and assess potential risk that may impact the business’s operations, reputation, or financial performance and monitor via Key Risk Indicators
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments, analyse data, and generate reports to identify trends and areas of concern.
  • Recommend and implement risk mitigation measures, including appropriate controls and contingency plans.


Compliance

  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in compliance audits and reviews to assess adherence to internal policies and external requirements.
  • Monitor implementation of group compliance training programs to educate employees on regulatory obligations.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams to ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and guidelines within the organization.


Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on planning, risk management, sustainability and compliance activities to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to strategic planning, risk assessments, sustainability and compliance efforts.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of planning, risk, sustainability and compliance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain documentation, such as policies, procedures, and guidelines.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Finance/ Risk Management or related field.
  • Professional certifications in risk management or finance (ACCA) or compliance (e.g., CRMA, CISA, CISSP, or similar) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 7 - 10 of working experience in finance/ accounting especially in Oil & Gas/ Shipping/ Business Analysis/ Heavy Engineering industry.
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management or compliance.
  • Experience in a regulated industry i.e., oil & gas and maritime, or financial services sector will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Experience in conducting internal audits or compliance reviews.
