Job Responsibilities
1. Project Coordination & Execution
- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities to ensure work is
executed according to project schedules, drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor and control progress to achieve project milestones and
completion within planned timelines.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure
smooth workflow and communication.
2. Workforce & Resource Management
- Supervise site manpower including technicians, skilled, and semiskilled workers.
- Plan and allocate work according to manpower availability and skill
levels.
- Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment are available and properly
utilized on site.
3. Safety, Health & Environment (HSE) Compliance
- Enforce compliance with site safety rules, permit-to-work systems,
and company HSE policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure workers wear proper PPE.
- Report and investigate near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
4. Quality Control & Inspection
- Ensure all works meet quality standards, specifications, and industry
codes (API, ASME, etc.).
- Conduct site inspections and verify completion of works as per
approved procedures.
- Assist QA/QC team in documentation, material traceability, and
inspection records.
5. Technical & Site Documentation
- Maintain accurate daily progress reports, site diaries, and manpower
records.
- Verify and endorse work completion for progress claims.
- Assist in preparing site reports, as-built drawings, and handover
documentation.
6. Problem Solving & Decision Making
- Identify site issues and propose practical solutions to minimize
downtime.
- Liaise with engineering teams to resolve technical and construction
problems.
7. Permit & Compliance Coordination
- Ensure all work permits (hot work, confined space, lifting, etc.) are
properly obtained and closed out.
- Coordinate with client representatives for site clearance and
inspection activities.
8. Team Leadership
- Lead and motivate site personnel to achieve high performance and
productivity.
- Provide on-the-job guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members.
9. Liaison & Reporting
- Attend coordination meetings and report site progress, challenges,
and resource requirements.
Qualification
1. Educational Qualification
- Minimum: Diploma or Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil,
Electrical, Instrumentation, or related field).
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction
Management.
- Alternative: Technical or vocational training in relevant trades with
strong field experience.
2. Experience
- Minimum: 3–5 years of relevant site experience in oil & gas
construction, maintenance, or shutdown projects.
- Preferred: Prior experience supervising multi-discipline teams (civil,
mechanical, piping, E&I, etc.) in plant or offshore environments.
3. Professional Certifications
Depending on the site and company requirements, the following are
often required or preferred:
- Oil & Gas Safety Certifications:
- Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET) or TBOSIET (for offshore work)
- Safety Passport / Green Book (if applicable to the country)
- H2S Awareness & Escape
- Permit to Work (PTW) training
- Confined Space Entry & Gas Tester Certificate
- Supervisory / Competency Certifications:
- Competent Person / Supervisor course (CIDB, NIOSH, or equivalent)
- Construction or Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) certification
- First Aid / CPR
- Optional (but advantageous):
- API, ASME, or AWS certifications related to mechanical or welding
works.
- Lifting Supervisor / Rigging & Slinging certification
4. Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of oil & gas construction and maintenance
procedures.
- Familiar with piping, mechanical, electrical, or civil standards.
- Knowledge of PTW systems, risk assessments, and method
statements (JHA/JSA).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Awareness of hazardous area classification and safety management
systems (HSE).
5. Soft Skills & Leadership
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate daily site activities.
- Skilled in problem-solving and handling on-site conflicts.
- Good reporting and documentation ability.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,700.00 per month
