What You'll Be Doing?


Project Engineer is responsible to plan, coordinate, and execute plant improvement, debottlenecking, brownfield expansion, and CAPEX projects from concept development through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.


Job Responsibilities

  • Review Modification Requests (MOC), PFDs, P&IDs, and plant requirements to develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Prepare and coordinate engineering deliverables including layouts, specifications, BOQs, cost estimates, and CAPEX proposals.
  • Manage project execution activities involving civil, structural, mechanical, piping, equipment installation, and commissioning works.
  • Coordinate with consultants, vendors, contractors, procurement, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Prepare technical specifications, RFQs, tender evaluations, and technical recommendations.
  • Monitor project schedules, costs, progress, risks, and contractor performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company engineering standards, MOC requirements, statutory regulations, and EHS requirements.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities including BOMBA, JKKP/DOSH, and local authorities for approvals and compliance matters.
  • Maintain project documentation, engineering records, and as-built drawings.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out are following ESM Integrated Management System requirements (ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, ISO 22716, GMP+B2, RSPO, HALAL, Kosher & GMP).


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in project engineering within chemical, oleochemical, or other process manufacturing industries.
  • Experience in brownfield projects within operating plants is an advantage.


Skills required

  • Ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, isometrics, and plant layouts.
  • Working knowledge of pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, tanks, piping systems, and plant utilities.
