Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Responsible for sourcing, purchasing and coordinating materials, parts and services related to sheet metal fabrication and machining processes while ensuring cost efficiency, quality and on-time delivery. The role also requires close coordination with internal teams and customers to support industrial customer service requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Purchasing & Sourcing

  • Source and procure raw materials (metal sheets, CNC parts, machining components) and services
  • Request quotations, evaluate suppliers and negotiate pricing, lead time and terms
  • Issue Purchase Orders (PO) and monitor delivery schedules

2. Supplier Management

  • Develop and maintain supplier database for sheet metal and machining vendors
  • Evaluate supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery)
  • Resolve supplier issues related to delays, quality or shortages

3. Coordination & Customer Service

  • Liaise with Production, Planning and Engineering on material requirements
  • Support Industrial Customer Service (CS) on order status, urgent requests and delivery updates
  • Handle customer-related purchasing issues professionally

4. Cost Control & Documentation

  • Monitor material cost and support cost reduction initiatives
  • Ensure proper documentation and records for all purchasing activities
  • Maintain compliance with company procurement policies

Requirements (Academic, Skills & Experience)

  • Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years experience in purchasing within sheet metal / CNC machining / manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials, machining processes and industrial parts
  • Experience handling RFQ, supplier negotiation and cost analysis
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with suppliers, internal teams and customers
  • Able to communicate in Mandarin (to liaise with Mandarin-speaking suppliers)
  • Familiar with ERP system and Microsoft Excel

Authority

  • Authorized to issue Purchase Orders within approved limit
  • Authorized to negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers
  • Authority to recommend supplier selection and sourcing strategy

Pay: RM3,200.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
