Key Accountabilities
The role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of offshore material requirements, overseeing the planning and execution of cargo loading and backloading activities, and maintaining effective communication between the rig, supply base, and relevant logistics stakeholders.
Material Receiving & Verification
- Receive incoming materials at the supply base and verify that all items are delivered in good condition and in accordance with the specifications, quantities, and requirements stated in the
Purchase Order and supporting documentation.
Cargo Operations Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate cargo loading and backloading activities at the Asian Supply Base jetty during the drilling campaign, ensuring that offshore material requests are fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner.
Supply Base Logistics Execution
- Ensure all loading and unloading activities, vessel scheduling, and related documentation are properly planned and executed at the supply base, maintaining safe operations and reducing delays to vessel departures.
Logistics & Equipment Arrangement
- Arrange logistics and transportation for materials, including the coordination and ordering of required Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to support operational activities.
Regulatory & Port Clearance Coordination
- Liaise with shipping and forwarding agents to ensure timely vessel clearance and proper cargo documentation in compliance with port and regulatory requirements.
Contractor Coordination
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers to ensure cargo readiness, proper documentation, and timely delivery to support offshore operations.
Fuel Bunkering Coordination
- Liaise to arrange diesel fuel bunkering for vessels supporting the drilling campaign.
Operational Support to Drilling Team
- Work closely with the drilling engineer and offshore team to coordinate material movements and logistics arrangements for operational requirements such as make-up jobs, equipment testing, welding activities, and other drilling-related support tasks.
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge
- Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics, materials coordination, or supply base operations, preferably within the oil & gas industry.
- Experience in materials receiving, inspection, and inventory control, ensuring compliance with purchase orders and operational requirements.
- Familiarity with cargo documentation, shipping procedures, and port clearance processes.
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including offshore rig teams, drilling engineers, vendors, contractors, and logistics service providers.
- Experience working in high-pressure operational environments, managing urgent material requests while meeting tight vessel schedules.
- Prior experience working at an oil & gas supply base or supporting drilling campaigns will be an added advantage.
- Supply Base & Offshore Logistics Knowledge – Good understanding of supply base operations, cargo handling, vessel loading/backloading processes, and offshore material coordination.
- Materials & Inventory Management – Knowledge of materials receiving, verification, tracking, and documentation to ensure accurate inventory and cargo movement.
- Vessel & Cargo Planning – Ability to plan and prioritize cargo loading and backloading activities based on operational urgency, vessel capacity, and sailing schedules.
- Documentation & Compliance – Familiarity with cargo manifests, purchase orders, delivery notes, shipping documentation, and port clearance requirement.
- HSE Awareness – Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards related to material handling, lifting operations, and supply base activities in the oil & gas industry.
- Stakeholder Coordination – Ability to effectively coordinate with offshore rig teams, drilling engineers, logistics personnel, vendors, contractors, and shipping agents.
- Communication Skills – Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clear coordination between offshore and onshore team.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making – Ability to respond quickly to urgent offshore material requests and resolve logistics issues to avoid operational delays.
- Computer Literacy – Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with logistics, inventory, or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Experience supporting offshore drilling or offshore operations, including coordination of material movement between onshore supply base and offshore installations.
- Practical experience in cargo loading and backloading operations, vessel scheduling, and supply vessel coordination.
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability, with the ability to manage logistics activities that directly support critical offshore drilling operations.
- Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy in material verification, cargo documentation, and logistics coordination.
- Proactive and responsive, able to anticipate operational needs and respond quickly to urgent offshore material requests.
- Effective communicator, capable of maintaining clear and professional communication with offshore teams, internal departments, vendors, and contractors.
